Girl Scout Cookies: Ranked

Girl Scout cookie season is in full swing with it running through April. Although, I stopped participating a little over 10 years ago, I would never turn down something contributing to a great cause. Unfortunately, I don’t know any Girl Scouts anymore so I made my purchases to a few girls selling in front of Giant Eagle. My brother and I bought five boxes because we didn’t know when we would be able to get them again. However, we only bought three kinds.

Tag-a-longs: Tagalongs are the peanut butter filled cookie covered in chocolate. While they are only a 6.5/10 on a good day, not having them displayed in the pantry would have been a 2/10 whether they sit there for 2 weeks or 2 months.

Thin Mints: Personally, I think Thin Mints are great. What is not to love about mint chocolate chip in cookie form? At the same time I don’t think I have ever found myself with a dire craving  for one.  We bought them mostly for my mint chocolate fanatic mom.

Samoas: Samoas are iconic. The flower shaped cookie with caramel on the inside coated with coconut shavings and chocolate are definitely my favorite Girl Scout cookie by far.  They have the most flavor and I enjoy foods with caramel so I like the texture. I know most people have complaints about the coconut saying that is unesscary but I think its a nice touch. I’m glad we got three boxes of Samoas and that we still have one left.

While we were buying our go-to cookies I noticed that there was a boxes I didn’t recognize. Girl Scouts of America had released the Smores cookies recently and Adventurefuls just this year. By the time my brother and I realized our missed oppurtuiny of trying new flavors of Girl Scout cookies we were home but to anyone who gets the chance I recommend Samoas and to try the new ones because I wish I did.
