Blockbuster Trade: Wilson shipped to Denver

The Seattle Seahawks are now facing what could be a lengthy rebuilding process after dealing their Super Bowl winning Quarterback, Russell Wilson, to the Denver Broncos for a package that includes QB Drew Lock, Tight End Noah Fant, Defensive End Shelby Harris and multiple draft picks.

Wilson was a third round draft pick of the Seahawks in the 2012 NFL draft. Wilson of course took his Seahawks to the superbowl just two years later where they defeated the Denver Broncos 43-8 for the franchise’s first and only super bowl victory. During his time in Seattle, Wilson also won the Walter Payton Man of the Year award for his work with COVID-19 relief in Seattle.

Wilson now has his chance at history in Denver. The Broncos are scheduled to square off against his former team in Seattle which gives Wilson the opportunity to be the fifth quarterback in league history to defeat all 32 NFL teams. If Wilson can accomplish this feat, he would become the youngest quarterback to do so.

Expectations are already sky high for the new-look Broncos as many analysts on ESPN have Denver as legitimate championship contenders. The AFC West Division is as tough as ever as Wilson and the Broncos will have to go through Justin Herbert of the Las Angeles Chargers, Derek Carr of the Las Vegas Raiders and Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes and the Chiefs are of course back to back AFC champions.

“Seattle, I love you. Forever Grateful. #3.” said Wilson in a tweet following the trade.
