With the upcoming senior athletes rising in Olentangy Liberty High School, there have been many commitments made. With one of the athletes from Girl’s Golf, Olivia Aronhalt is a senior this year who recently declared her commitment to Indiana University.
Aronhalt first started golf when her father brought her out to the golf course for the first time when she was 8 years old. She said that she improved so much since then and it would be her 10th year officially playing the sport.
“I love the game of golf because I learn something new every time I play,” Aronhalt said.
Aronhalt first started her recruiting process the summer before her junior year and ended when she committed in late August. She explains that her recruiting process was a whole journey as time passed by.
“I knew I wanted to commit when I saw how successful the team was. I wanted to help contribute to their success,” Aronhalt said.
She explained that during her first visit she made personal connections with the coaches and saw a thriving future at the university. Something that made Aronhalt push her choice further in choosing Indianapolis.
“I received offers from multiple schools but Indiana University Indianapolis felt the most like home to me,” Aronhalt said.
Aronhalt has already begun training from what the university had advised her to do. Her coaches are looking out for her as she trains diligently for this new change.
“I have been given a few arm exercises I can do to help with bicep and forearm strength,” Aronhalt said.
Aronhalt’s favorite on the course snack and PB & J, and her favorite Liberty Golf memory are van rides with the team that she said was very fun. She advises future Patriot golfers to enjoy every second with the team on and off the course because the season goes by so fast.
“I cannot wait to start playing on the team. I think I’m going to thrive at this school and really enjoy being a part of the team,” Aronhalt said.
