Crumbl Cookie is known for its confections made fresh daily with a weekly rotating menu. This week featured the classic Chocolate Chip cookie and some new favorites: Churro, Strawberry Shortcake and Triple Chocolate Chip. We, Maggie and Natalie, tried the menu during class, and here is what we had to say:
Chocolate Chip
N (Natalie): Adding the salt brings out the cookie’s sweetness. The chocolate in the cookie is also high quality which adds to the taste. 11/10
M (Maggie): The chocolate chip is a classic. I’m a huge fan of the salt sprinkled on top. 9/10
Churro
N: The frosting is a little salty, making it 100 times better. The sugar coating of the cookie was satisfying and added to the texture. 8/10
M: The churro smells just like a snickerdoodle and the buttercream on top is the perfect texture. 9.5/10
Strawberry Shortcake
N: The base it too soft and doughy but the whipped frosting is very good. My favorite part was the strawberry jelly on top. 5/10
M: Strawberry shortcake is okay, the base is doughy and the jelly top is not my favorite. 4/10
Triple Chocolate Chip
N: Tastes like a brownie and the perfect amount of chocolateyness. However I hate only the chocolate flavor, it wasn’t interesting enough for me. 4/10
M: The chocolate is a classic tasting one. Perfect chocolate flavor and chips. 7/10
Overall our opinions of this weekly menu were high.
The final rankings are as follows:
N: 1. Chocolate Chip (a classic), 2. Churro (a nice fall flavor), 3. Strawberry Shortcake (the right amount of sweetness), 4. Triple Chocolate Chip (too much chocolate, but still very enjoyable).
M: 1. Churro (a perfect snickerdoodle with even more perfect frosting), 2. Chocolate Chip (the saltiness brings out the flavor), 3. Triple Chocolate Chip (perfect chocolate flavor), 4. Strawberry Shortcake (the base was too doughy)
