This past weekend, Friday, March 1, and Saturday, March 2 Olentangy Liberty Speech and Debate team competed at the state tournament at Wooster high school. Liberty had 20 qualifiers for states this year, which is the most the team has ever had at the state tournament.
Liberty had their second state champion ever, Tony Li ‘25 championed Senate congressional debate.
Sadie Segerson ‘25 got into the final round for Senate Congressional Debate, and Jordan Koth ‘24 got into the final round for House Congressional Debate, Levi Li 25 placed eighth in the state for Lincoln Douglas debate.
“I worked very hard to get there and I have my team to thank,” said Koth.
These outstanding results are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Liberty Speech and Debate team, as well as the guidance and support provided by their coaches and mentors.
“ It was a great experience and we are going to do even better next year,” said Koth.
