Pros and Cons of Crutching Around School

If you’ve been in the halls you’ve most likely seen (or heard) me crutching around. Being on crutches for a week and a half has certainly made this school seem ten times bigger. My heart rate barely goes under 100 all day simply because of the loops around and around the school I must go. However I also can get away with leaving 10 minutes early and just sitting in the elevator (crying). I have already fallen down at school four times but my worst fear is my sock falling off. Anyone who has had to get a hard cast on their legs knows that they don’t let you put a sock on underneath. For fear of my dogs being out I have to either cut half socks or wear giant ones over my cast. But the worst part was the first full day I was on crutches we had a fire drill. Is this school trying to make my life harder? Ihope this article shed some light on my fellow crutchers (I wish you luck on this journey). Enjoy the pro/con list below that gives insider information on the halls of Olentangy Liberty from someone on crutches.

PROS

  • I get to leave class five minutes early
  • I have become a master at crutching and hopping around- I level up every week (now I can open doors)
  • I can get out of doing stuff in class- yes I am talking about labs in science

CONS

  • I GET TRIPPED IN THE HALLS (by Nikhil)
  • Mr. Brenning doesn’t let me leave- I hope he reads this
  • I get places way slower
  • I get made fun of (deserved)
  • Getting in/out of the school- the handicap buttons DO NOT work
  • RIDING THE BUS- honestly top 10 worst experiences of my life

P.S. come sign my cast pls
