OLHS girls track takes on its rival school, Olentangy, in the last track meet of the 2026 regular season.
Sophomore Sophia Tsakalis leads her heat in the girls 100m dash against Olentangy. This meet concludes Tsakalis’ second year running track for the Patriots. “My favorite part is hanging out and getting food after meets with my friends,” Tsakalis said.Sprinter Ella Bright lines up on her blocks to start the 100m dash. While Bright plays varsity tennis for Liberty in the fall, she enjoys track to stay in shape while hanging out with her friends. “I’m gonna miss the social aspect because track is so fun since I get to hang out with my friends and get good exercise after a long day of school,” Bright said.Varsity sprinter Scarlett Smelker poses with her friends Ella Bright and Aiza Rahmani after her race. Smelker finished first in the 100m dash with a time of 13.38. “Everyone in track is so sweet and will always have your back and meet days are always the best,” Smelker said.Distance runner Lauren Sutch approaches the finish line of her 1600m race. Sutch has been running since middle school and is on the OLHS cross country team. “I love getting to spend time with some of my favorite people in the world,” Sutch said.Sophomore Leah Berger finishes the final lap of her 1600m race strong. Berger finished the race with a personal best of 5:33.16, taking first place for the Patriots. “I felt happy because I trusted myself to make a move and just take the lead,” Berger said. “It was just me vs myself that last 400 and it felt good.”Isabella Davis receives a handoff to start the second leg of the girls 4x100m relay. Davis says that she loves running and runs cross country in the fall and track in the spring. “I love that I get to compete with myself every single meet,” Davis said.
