Sabrina Carpenter is receiving a lot of backlash from the media and her fans after a comment she made during a concert. This past week at Coachella, Carpenter stopped singing while onstage because of an audience member making odd noises in the crowd. When Carpenter asked what the fan was doing they replied that they were yodeling and that it was a part of their Arab culture. Carpenter replied to that by saying “that’s weird” and making a disgusted expression. the clip went viral on tik tok and all over social media, with many people saying her comment was deeply disrespectful and even racist. Carpenter responded on X by acknowledging her mistake and clarifying that her reaction was pure confusion without any ill intent. She apologized and stated that she “could have handled it better”. However some fans are still unhappy and disappointed in her reaction.
