On March 6 2026, Disney presented a Pixar production called “Hoppers,” which has been gaining popularity. Hoppers is a film that introduces a girl protagonist (Maple) who desires to save the environment from the mayor, who wants to construct the area. Maple eventually discovers a way to communicate with the animals by entering into a fake beaver prototype. Through this, she strives to find a way to save “the glade” (the environment).

I came into the theater not expecting much from the movie. When I watched the trailer, there was nothing that really excited me or caught my attention, but I still hoped I would enjoy it. To my surprise, I actually enjoyed the movie a lot. The plot was not the same basic expected storyline where everyone expected the mayor to be the villain and Maple saves the day, but it was full of twists and turns instead.

I also loved the movie because it was funny in many areas, which was surprising because I don’t normally laugh while watching animated movies. There were many amusing jokes, and the animal characterizations were diverse and fun to watch. The animals were animated so cute, and at one point, some scenes made me want to cry because of how pure the plot was. The pacing of the plot was also very nicely executed. I didn’t think the movie was too fast or too slow.

There are barely any critiques I could think of for this movie. I would say compared to the other Pixar movies though, the theme/message is less emotionally impactful. However, I also believe that not everything has to be emotionally driven and executed like Pixar’s movie “Up” for example. Everything was kid-appropriate and I saw adults in the theater thoroughly enjoying the movie as well. The plot was nicely made, and all the characters were so intricately created. I would definitely recommend my peers to watch this. It’s very light and humorous, and I don’t regret spending my time watching this movie at all. I overall rate the movie a 4.5/5.
