With only three divers on the roster, the Olentangy Liberty dive team proved this season that success is not measured by numbers, but by determination and teamwork. The team consisted of two senior girls and one sophomore boy, and despite their small size, the group delivered an impressive season filled with strong performances, leadership, and major accomplishments. Throughout the year, Abby Foskey (26’), Kylie Moreland (26’), and Leo Ryan (28’) created a tight-knit group that made the most of every opportunity.

Abby Foskey and Kylie Moorland played a major role in setting the tone for the season. With years of experience, they brought consistency and confidence to every meet. Their dedication during practices and meets helped build a strong culture for the program. As seniors, they understood that this would be their final season representing Liberty, which made every dive and every competition even more meaningful.

“Being a senior on this team meant a lot,” Foskey said. “We wanted to lead by example and show how much hard work and commitment can pay off.”

Leo Ryan also made significant strides throughout the season. Competing alongside two experienced seniors gave him the opportunity to grow both technically and mentally. With their support and advice, he steadily improved and gained valuable experience that will help shape the future of the program.

“Having two seniors to learn from was huge for me,” Ryan said. “They helped me stay confident and always reminded me to trust my dives.”

As the season progressed, the team’s hard work paid off in the postseason. Ryan and Foskey qualified for the state championship meet, an impressive achievement as Ryan placed 12th and Foskey placed 5th on the podium. Their performances showed the results of months of dedication, focus, and preparation.

“Qualifying for states was one of my biggest goals,” Ryan said. “It felt amazing to see all that work finally pay off.”

At the state meet, Foskey capped off the incredible season with a podium finish, standing among the best divers in the state. The accomplishment marked a memorable moment not only for Abby but also for the entire program. The success will continue beyond high school, as Foskey will take the next step and compete at the collegiate level next year for West Virginia University.

“Standing on the podium was an incredible feeling,” Foskey said. “I’m really excited to continue diving next year at WVU.”

As the season comes to a close, the Liberty dive team leaves behind a story of perseverance, leadership, and achievement. While the seniors will move on to new opportunities, their impact on the program will remain. With a strong foundation built this year, the future of Liberty diving looks bright.
