People We Meet on Vacation, directed by Claire Scanlon and based on the novel by Emily Henry is a romantic comedy following two best friends who then turn to lovers. This movie had an amazing mix of humor and heartfelt moments and stars Emily Bader (Poppy) and Tom Blyth (Alex). These two friends have been vacationing together every summer for years until one year – they stop. Now they have to face their unresolved feelings and see where their friendship ends at the end of it.
The characters were casted very well and balanced each other in a great way. Poppy being more the extroverted and quirky one has Alex to balance her out which makes them such a great pair. This movie’s pace is also great, and didn’t feel too slow when watching it, which is just what you need when watching a romance. The scenery in the movie was also jaw dropping, and I loved how the movie didn’t take place in just a couple spots. The digital team for the movie did a great job in filming the different landscapes and making it fit in with the movie’s pace. Overall, I’d highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes rom-coms to definitely try this out when you’re in the mood for something light but still meaningful.
