After 10 years Stranger Things has finally ended, but the ending left fans with mixed feelings. Some fans felt that the writers gave the characters beautiful and realistic endings that tugged at the heart strings. While others ended the show feeling confused. 

Stranger Things ended with the characters all growing up and in some ways going their separate ways. The ending also left lots of fans with unanswered questions surrounding Vecna and the Upsidedown. 

This led to some fans speculating about another secret episode. People coined this Conformity Gate. The idea was that this episode would wrap up all of the plot holes and final questions that needed to be answered. In the end Conformity Gate ended up just being the speculations of desperate fans. 

Viewers were also frustrated with the pacing of the ending, some saying it was too fast then too slow. 

There was a Stranger Things Play that came out in between season 4 and season 5. Fans that have seen the play say that the play adds a lot to the final season. Some even say that the ending won’t make sense without the play. 

This sparked a lot of debate because the play is not available on any streaming services and only a select few people saw the play in person. Meaning only some people really got to understand the final season. 

Overall there was a lot of criticism surrounding the final season and especially the final episode. The Duffers responded to the criticism by saying that a lot of different plot points happened “off-screen”. This in turn created even more criticism with fans saying that the Duffers are just creating excuses. 

There were a lot of differing opinions surrounding the last season of Stranger Things. Many mixed emotions surrounding the ending of a 10 year long show on a more open note created internet controversy. At the end of the day the show has a huge fan base and this last season only added to it, and most fans don’t think that the story will end here.
