Tangled is arguably one of the best Disney movies. I grew up watching this movie and it’s extremely nostalgic for me. Recently Disney announced they are releasing a live action version, and casted Milo Manheim as Flynn and Teagan Croft as Rapunzel. 

I’m not the biggest fan of Disney live action movies, especially the ones recently. I loved the live action “Beauty and the Beast” but the live action “Snow White” and “The Little Mermaid” I wasn’t so sure about. I feel like not every movie needs to be turned into a live action, but I hope the new Tangled changes my mind. 

My issue with live action Disney movies is that they need to be longer than the original, which leaves the writers needing to add in new stuff. A lot of the times they do this by adding in extra songs, which I feel like can be hit or miss. I hate it when movies add in a bunch of filler that doesnt really add to the plot much, and especially with a movie like “Tangled” that’s already written and doesn’t need anything added. 

However, the thing I care about the most in the new “Tangled” is the music. “I See the Light” is one of the best love songs from a Disney movie in my opinion and I hope the live action music continues to be this good. I don’t know much about Teagan Croft, however I remember watching Milo Manheim in Zombies when it came out and I really like his voice so I have high hopes for him and I think he’ll do a good job with singing. 

One thing I am curious about is how they are going to recreate the scenes from the animated movie to the live action version. The biggest scene in my opinion that I have high hopes for is the boat lantern scene and the scenes of The Ugly Duckling. The lantern scene is such an important part of the movie and I hope they don’t let us down. I also am excited to see The Ugly Duckling come to life as I really enjoyed that scene in the orginal. 

I also am really excited to see the costumes in the movie. I love Rapunzel’s dress in the original, the purple dress is so iconic. As much as I love the dress, I hope that they give her another dress at some point in the movie. I am also looking forward to see Flynn’s iconic outfit come to life.

I think this movie has a lot of potential and I look forward to keeping up with it and seeing it when it comes out. I also am excited to see who else gets cast in it, especially the role of Mother Gothel. As of right now filming is scheduled to start later this year however no release date has been announced.
