Recently on December 15th, there was a school shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island. The mass shooting happened around the evening time and left many students traumatized. Including 9 students who were injured and 2 were killed in this deadly event, as well as 2 students who have now been through 2 school shootings in their lifetime. The fact that students have now been accustomed to these traumatic events, just shows what needs to be done in this country. According to K-12 School Shooting Database, in just 2025 there have been 230 shootings with 2023 having an all time high of 352 in just a year. No one is doing anything to help prevent these from happening, nor are we advocating for better policies. As for those 2 students at Brown who have now gone through 2 shootings in their lifetime is just traumatic. How many more mass shootings have to happen, not only in schools but public places as well, for the government officials to stand up and do something about it. Someone needs to take a stand against these violences and make sure that students don’t get familiar with these traumatic events.
School Shootings are becoming all too familiar in the United States
