As Formula 1 goes into the last race of the 2025 season at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, fans are as excited as ever. The Yas Marina Circuit has been the last Formula 1 race of the season since its introduction in 2009. This race has been described as one of the most boring races of the season because, out of the 17 seasons it has been held, only 4 have had the title come down to it. This year has a different story. The drivers’ championship comes down to a three-horse race with Lando Norris in first place with 408 points, Max Verstappen in second with 396 points, and Oscar Piastri in third with 392.

Verstappen was third for most of the season. After the Dutch Grand Prix, he was 104 points down. Then, he started his comeback as he won five of the last eight races. He is now 12 points down and needs to win at Yas Marina and have Norris place fourth or lower.
Piastri was first for most of the year, winning five of the first nine races. After that, Norris got hot, winning five of seven races and taking the throne. That never discouraged the Australian driver. He is only 16 points back from Norris and 4 points behind Verstappen. For Piastri to come home with his first Drivers’ Championship, he needs to win at Yas Marina and have Norris place sixth or lower.
Lando Norris has been in the title race the whole season. He was almost able to close it out at the Las Vegas GP, but wasn’t able to because of a McLaren double disqualification. Even after that, Norris has been the most consistent of the three. He has taken first from Piastri and Verstappen. This makes it very easy for an experienced driver like him to bring it home. All he needs to do at Yas Marina is get on the podium to win his first Drivers’ Championship in his 7 seasons in Formula 1.
