Wicked: For Good released on November 21st, however I was lucky enough to get to attend an earlier showing on November 17th. Just a warning there may be spoilers in here.

I loved the first movie, and I had very high expectations for the second movie. I’m very happy to say that I loved the second one just as much as the first one.

I saw the musical a long time ago so honestly I didn’t really remember too much of the ending and how “Wicked” is connected to “The Wizard of Oz”. But I thought they did a really good job connecting the two. I also really liked the decision to not show Dorothy’s face in the movie.

The music of course was my favorite (it’s a musical so). I had been listening to the original Broadway soundtrack for a while preparing for the movie, and I have to say I was very impressed. One of my favorites has to be “No Good Deed”. Idina Menzel did a good job on the original but I was blown away by Cynthia Erivo’s performance. She has an incredible voice and I really hope we get to see her in more projects in the future. 

I also really liked “As Long as You’re Mine”, both the vocals and the performance were amazing. Jonathan Bailey has a fantastic voice, and blended with Evrio’s is amazing. Also I really really enjoyed having a front row view for this song…!

The movie also featured original songs that weren’t in the musical. “The Girl in The Bubble” had to be my favorite. Casting Ariana Grande as Galinda was an amazing choice, her voice fits perfectly.

I also really loved where the characters went in this movie. Galinda, Fieryo and Elepha all three were beautifully well written and had very good development throughout the movie. I also really liked Boq and Nessarose (The Wicked Witch of The East) in this movie. As much as I dislike Ethan Slater, he did a really good job with Boq’s character, especially Boq’s solo in “The March of The Witch Hunters.” Marissa Bode also did a good job as Nessarose.

The costumes were also very well done. I love Galinda’s ballgowns and the rest of Oz’s costumes were so good. The Tin Man was also very well done, so well done he kind of scared me. The Scarecrow…I kinda think he looks like Ryan Renyolds. I really loved Wicked, both movies completely blew me away and even though the movies are both long, time flies when you’re in the theater. I highly recommend going to see it if you can.
