Girls Cross Country Berlin Bear Dash

Ellie Mitrey’ 27 stays strong in the second mile of her 5k.

Liberty girls cross country raced at Berlin this past weekend for the Berlin bear dash. Between the races they entered in, Liberty got 11th overall in the varsity race and 4th in the JV race. Although it was hot, LGXC didn’t let the weather throw off their game. Ellie Mitrey bagged 3rd place in the JV race, scoring 3 points for Liberty with a time of 20:54. Becca Henry finished a close 7th place with a time of 21:24. In the varsity race, Bridget Snider scored first for liberty with a time of 18:47, finishing in 19th place. With over 40 teams entered in the meet, the race was highly competitive, similar to the nature of the upcoming state meet on November 1st. Liberty girls cross country athletes and coaches hope to continue improving their rank by winning OCC’s in two weeks and moving on to place competitively at regionals and state.

Olivia runs varsity cross country and track, which she enjoys a lot. In her free time, Olivia likes hanging out and getting food with her friends, traveling to other countries, and going on long walks.
