Liberty girls volleyball defeated Berlin in dominant fashion on Tuesday, winning 3-1. Liberty got out to a hot start, winning the first two sets 25-13 and 25-19. 

In the first set, Liberty looked on point, and as Berlin struggled with fundamental mistakes, the Patriots took advantage. Poor communication by Berlin continued to pour salt in the wound. Timely kills by Ellyn Lough cemented the 25-13 opening set win.

The second set was more of the same from the Patriots, getting out to a 14-8 lead and never looking back. The frustration was building high on the Berlin coaching staff, but the bench stayed overly positive with staple Berlin cheers. The Patriots closed in on victory with a 25-19 set two victory.

Berlin refused to go away, they entered the set with a new fire, and momentum changed in an instant. As Liberty began to wear down, Berlin looked strong. In a tight third set that went into an extended rally, Berlin edged out Liberty 28-26. 

Berlin carried even more energy into set four, jumping out to an 8-18 lead. But as momentum began to shift, Liberty went on a 13-2 run, taking a 21-20 lead. The Patriots would win 25-22, taking the 3-1 win.

The Patriots currently stand at 5-3, and will play tonight at Dublin Jerome. Start time is 7:00.
