The annual CAPA Marquee Awards will take place this Friday in downtown Columbus, celebrating excellence in high school theater from across Central Ohio. The event, presented by the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA), recognizes outstanding student performers, crews, and productions in a variety of categories.
Representing Liberty High School, senior Lauren Hardy and junior Brendon Carrion are among this year’s nominees. Hardy is receiving her second award in the National Student Reporter category and is in the running to advance to the Jimmy Awards, a national competition held each summer in New York City that showcases the top high school theater talent from across the country.
Carrion is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Danny/Zeus in Liberty’s winter musical, XANADU. His dynamic portrayal brought both humor and heart to the production, earning praise from peers and adjudicators alike.
Tickets to the Marquee Awards are $15 and can be purchased here.
