I’ve always liked writing, and cannon seems to be a class with writing that also gives you some independence and choice in what you do.
2. What types of writing are you most interested in? (Check all that apply)
Opinion/editorials, reviews (books, movies, music, etc.), and creative writing (columns, satire, etc.)
Ideas and Interests
3. What are some topics or issues you’d like to see The Cannon cover this year?
Any news about what’s happening at Liberty, although I know it could be hard to be current in a quarterly publication. Any opinion article about things that affect students like homework or sleep is usually interesting too.

Writing and Experience

I’m interested in joining The Cannon because I have a deep passion for writing and entertaining or informing friends or family. Usually it’s with useless facts but now I can put it towards something productive which helps a ton.
2. What types of writing are you most interested in? (Check all that apply)
I would say I am most interested in editorials, features and creative writing. The more humor I can get out there the better.
Ideas and Interests
3. What are some topics or issues you’d like to see The Cannon cover this year?
I’d say overall The Cannon does a great job covering all the bases but I think that some editorial cartoons and creative writing would create more traction and appeal to the student body.
Skills and Collaboration
4. Do you have experience with photography, illustration, or graphic design?
Out of the three, I would say illustrations are my strong suit. Graphic design is a close second and photography is parachuting out the window. I would love to learn more about the techniques to it though.
5. Are you interested in being involved with the layout, design, or social media side of The Cannon?
I am definitely interested in joining the layout and design side of The Cannon since a strong design heavily influences the message and impact of the article.

6. How do you work in a team setting?
I work well in a team, although I tend to work by myself I can thrive in both places.
7. What do you hope to learn or gain from being part of The Cannon this year?

Fun Questions
8. If you could have dinner with any fictional character, who would it be and why?
If I was to have dinner with a fictional character, I would choose Batman (Specifically the 1966 series version) or House M.D.. Both shows hold a place in my heart so those would be up there for sure.
9. What’s your go-to snack when you’re writing or working?
When working in homework or at theatre, my go-to snack is usually a bottle of Diet Mountain Dew and some cashew Beer Nuts. They aren’t the best for me but they get the job done.
10. What song would play during the opening credits of a movie about your life?
This question probably took the longest but after careful consideration I have decided that the song would be “Round Are Way” by Oasis. It has a strong intro and catchy melody and is Brit-pop, all things I look for in a song.
11. If The Cannon gave out superlatives, what title would you win? (“Most likely to…”)
If The Cannon had superlatives, I’d probably win most dramatic since I’m a theatre kid.
