Next Tuesday, March 18th, Olentangy Liberty is hosting a TEDx talk event. It will be in the Theater at 6 pm. The event will last about an hour and a half. No tickets are required and catering will be offered free of charge during the intermission.
“It’s going to be a really fun event to watch and will be super engaging,” Michelle Huang ‘26 said. “It’s really nice that it’s become an official TED event.”
Six students and three teachers will be sharing their stories. The students speaking are: Sydney Yee, Ben Kurian, Aditya Dyta, Dylan Yee, Monishaa Tambe, and C.C. Dragoni. The teachers speaking are Mr. Marinelli, Mr. Gilsdorf, and Ms. Parker. The theme of the event and the speeches is based on the OLHS PBIS mantra: Respect, Engagement, and Inclusivity.
“All the speakers have been working super hard since November,” Huang said. “I can’t wait to watch the final product.”
There is a cast of diverse speakers who will be giving a variety of speeches that are relevant for high schoolers. Some topics include communities and their effects on teens and diabetes programs. The OLHS Jazz Band will be performing throughout the intermission and will be featured during the event.
“We hope that this event is a unifying force in the community and school environment,” WIll Wang ‘26 said.
If you can’t attend the event, all the speeches will be published on the official TEDx channel on YouTube in the coming months.
