The annual OLHS Cocoa and Cram event is taking place Monday the 16th and Tuesday the 17th after school. This event is a perfect opportunity to prepare for midterm exams which occur in the days following. It is run by Ms. Dejong, Ms. Grathwol, and the OLHS student mentors.
“This event is a rite of passage for all students preparing for exams, it’s an experience that many students have and will share,” said Dejong.
The event will include hot chocolate, chips, candy canes, and other snack packs that would be found at your local costco. Unlimited food and hot chocolate and help from your favorite upperclassmen; what more could you ask for!
“People come for the food and end up staying for the upperclassmen that help run the event. They are very helpful since most of them have taken similar exams in the past,” said junior Michelle Huang.
The upperclassmen at the event will attend to any student in need of help with their expertise in the classes. This is a chance for students to ask their peers as many questions as they want.
“Cocoa and Cram creates a special sense of community for the freshman and sophomores by connecting them with upperclassmen,” Dejong said.
