On March 27th, Tyler, The Creator dropped his newest release since his award winning Call Me If You Get Lost album. The song, titled “DOGTOOTH”, features DJ Drama, who also collaborated with Tyler in CMIYGL. In the track, Tyler raps about his struggles with surface level relationships and finding a partner who can commit to loving him. He claims he is not asking for much of a relationship, and that all he wants is someone to spend time with and genuinely understand him.

Just hours before releasing the song, Tyler tweeted “CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST WAS THE FIRST ALBUM I MADE WITH ALOT OF SONGS THAT DIDNT MAKE THE FINAL CUT. SOME OF THOSE SONGS I REALLY LOVE, AND KNEW THEY WOULD NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY, SO IVE DECIDED TO PUT A FEW OF THEM OUT.”

The new single features melodies similar to the records in CMIYGL. Fans were ecstatic to hear that even more will be released very soon. Before this release, fans discussed whether or not Tyler would release a new album in 2023. The artist has a pattern in which he releases albums every 2 years. His albums, from 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2021, feature Goblin, Wolf, Cherry Bomb, Flower Boy, Igor, and Call Me If You Get Lost, respectively. The song “DOGTOOTH” is featured in his newest album, The Estate Sale, which is a deluxe album of CMIYGL. Many speculate he will release the deluxe album and produce a new album this year. Others believe that just the unreleased singles from CMIYGL will satisfy his two year album tradition. As of now, it is unclear what the artist will decide to do.

As a Tyler, The Creator fan myself, I would love to see a deluxe album and a new album this year. I really enjoyed listening to “DOGTOOTH” and I’m excited to listen to even more of these unreleased tracks in the future.
