OLHS Girls Softball Takes Down Undefeated Danville

OLHS girls softball team lines up for their names to be announced. On Monday, May 12, 2025, the Olentangy Liberty Varsity Girls Softball team won their game against Danville High School by a score of 4-2. “Our season is going really well, we are currently 16-6 and just won our conference,” said Freshman Rylen Depaul. The upcoming freshman came to the softball game and their names were called along with the softball players. “We are playing really well this season and we all play really well together,” said Kailey. Izzy is a senior and is also the captain of the team.“My senior year has been really fun! It’s definitely weird to look back and see how fast things are moving but I’m excited for the future,” said Matteo. She has been playing softball for 12 years and she plays third base which is one of the most action packed positions. “I love softball because of the relationships I’ve built. Mindy has been playing softball for 8 years and has always been a pitcher. “I started pitching on my rec team and I’ve just stuck with it. It has always been something I have picked up really easily and I love being in control of the game,” said Schoen. Every time Mindy strikes out an opposing team the players come to congratulate her. “We’ve spent a lot of time off the field together bonding over different things which I think has made us very successful on the field as well,” said Schoen.
