Are you feeling hot for queso? If you are then you’re in luck because I have tried the three best queso’s in Columbus: Torchy’s, Condado’s, and Chuy’s. I have decided that hands down Torchy’s is the best. Torchy’s has it all, the flavor and the texture.
Although Condado’s is a tasty white cheddar it’s a little too thick and stringy. Chuy’s as well has a good classic taste but it’s very mild and there’s nothing special about it. If you’re in a queso mood you need to try Torchy’s as soon as possible.
Torchy’s is the perfect spice level for anyone because it has a little heat but is manageable. It’s the perfect inbetween spice for those who love spicy foods and those who can’t handle them at all. Chuy’s was just too mild to meet the standards. Overall the flavor is impeccable, something too good for words. It has the perfect texture as well because it’s thin but with the right chip you can scoop up plenty for the perfect bite.
A bonus to the great flavor is that they put on really good toppings. Every queso has cilantro, cotija cheese, and avocado. These toppings all just enhance the overall flavor and make this queso special to others. The Condados queso only has a jalapeno on top which most people don’t even eat. If you want to pay extra you can even get Torchy’s queso Hillbilly style which has all the same toppings as well as some ground beef.
Nothing makes queso better than the right chip. Torchy’s chips by far were better than Chuy’s and Condado’s. Torchy’s chips were a good thickness and well salted which made the flavor of the queso pop. The chips were soft but still had a good crunch. Chuy’s chips came close but weren’t as flavorful as Torchy’s.
If you haven’t tried Torchy’s queso yet, there’s no better time than now. Torchy’s has the most flavorful and unique queso in columbus. It’s something you can’t buy anywhere else. Torchy’s is my favorite queso and it could be yours too.
