Love Riley is a new bakery in Columbus, giving people a new sweet treat spot. Here at the Patriot Press, we decided to try it. When going there they didn’t have much street presence besides just a neon sign in the window so if you’re going keep your eyes open. Once we got inside, we noticed that there was no seating. So if you are looking for a take-out bakery then this is your place.
As we were planning on eating there and then going to lunch, not having any seating was a bit of a disappointment. I got their peanut butter chocolate cup cake, which I was excited to try as those are two of my favorite flavors together. But this is where the bakery felt lackluster to me. The chocolate cupcake was really crumbly and a little dry and the peanut butter frosting was frozen and hard to bite into. It was really messy to eat. There was also so much glitter on the cupcake that I felt I was eating more glitter than cupcake at one point.
The packaging for the cupcake was not great. For one cupcake I got a humongous box. There was no setting to keep the cupcake in place and was worried on my walk to the car that the cupcake would fall over in the box. For $3.50, I was hoping for it to be wow and it wasn’t. I honestly don’t think I would go back for their sweet treats and it missed the mark for me. Totally hit the aesthetic mark on decor in the store, but missed on the treats to me.
