With the new grand opening of Wingstop in the Lewis Center area, Wingstop also released their own new “Sweet Chili” flavor. The new sweet chili flavor promotes a spicy red sauce with a glossy glaze look mixed with sweet flavors. Wingstop originally had 13 flavors, but with this new limited time flavor, Wingstop now has 14 flavors until the rotation of their limited flavor time ends.
When we first walked into the new building, the seating and interior was so clean and nice with their signature green and wood colors. The Lewis Center Wingstop is about 10 mins away from Liberty High School, and it’s the only Wingstop that offers interior seating in Ohio.
When tasting the new Sweet Chili flavor on their boneless wings, the chicken itself was more on the soft side compared to a texture of crunchiness. The sauce was not a dry rub like some of the flavors Wingstop gives. They glazed the chicken with a lot of sauce and some sesame seeds as garnish to make it look presentable.
The sauce itself tasted like regular hot sauce with a salty sweet flavor. It was a little tangy and not like your usual sweet chili flavor that other fast food restaurants promote. The sauce had more of a regular hot sauce flavor and nothing that really stood out to make it appealing in taste and appearance wise.
The next time we order from Wingstop, we would not recommend or order the sweet chili flavor. There are many more flavors that Wingstop is known for that are delicious to order instead of this new flavor. It was a good flavor to try once, but we would not get it again nor do we see it being a booming flavor like the Hot Honey flavor Wingstop has. After tasting the new limited flavor Wingstop released, we would give it an honest rating of 6/10 and a 5/10.
