A new club has just been introduced at Liberty High School, Liberty Sports Management is a club for the kids that want to be part of the team but not play. It also allows you to get a taste of what management might be like.
Clubs like this one are an amazing way to stay active in our school community without playing a sport. While in this club you will be helping athletes be the best they can be.
“The main goal is to give students opportunities if they want to go into sports management in college,” said Matthew Stephens, president of Liberty Sports Management.
This club also will help the athletic department, the club members will work hand in hand with the athletic department to make the athletes lives as easy as possible.
“They can help out at games by running the scoreboard, game clocks, music, etc,” said Stephens.
Members may even be allowed on the sideline of games to help the coaches with statistics and anything else they may need. This will allow members the opportunity to feel like they are really part of the team.
“It’s giving further opportunities to students who want to be involved in athletics but not necessarily play, “ said Stephens.
Liberty Sports Management is a great club for students who love sports and are comfortable talking in a leadership role on a team.
“Scan the QR codes around the building, and we’ll contact you with an interview with the coach/coaches of the sport you would like to manage,” said Stephens.
You should be able to find the QR codes on the walls around the building. It is also important to note that this club offers service hours for helping the teams.
“It is an excellent opportunity for the students here because I know they love sports,“ said Stephens.
