This past weekend, the Speech and Debate team here at Liberty drove down south to Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati for the final tournament before Districts.
Overall, Liberty performed favorably, ranking fifth in overall team sweepstakes. Regarding specific competitors, the team did well. In Congressional Debate, Jordan Koth placed sixth. In Duo Interpretation, Aneesh Jonnala and Srivatsan Senthyl Prabu came in second place. In Lincoln Douglas Debate, Ananya Pise was in fourth place. In that same category, Camryn Harris was in fifth place, winning top novice and securing her four bids, the minimum amount needed to bypass states. In Public Forum, Niveditha Kadiam and Shakthi Baskar came in sixth place. And last but not least, Nandini Uppala was runner-up in United States Extemporaneous Speaking, continuing her three-week-long streak of placing.
As the team goes on to compete at Districts, often referred to as “Littles,” at Upper Arlington, it’s apparent that if Moeller was anything to go by, things are looking bright.
