There are a lot of different opinions when it comes to good old American football, one main controversial opinion being that college football is more active and entertaining than football produced by the NFL.
One main reason is people’s tension when they know of the big rival teams. That’s the main fun of college football: taking pride in and being a nationalist for the college you feel connected to. The NFL will never compare in this category. There will never be an NFL game that tops an Ohio State vs. Michigan football game, a UCLA vs. USC game, and so much more.
Another main reason why college football is more entertaining than NFL football is because of the actual players. I am not trying to diss any NFL players, but College players have more energy and passion than they bring to the field. While it is exhilarating to see fresh-out-of-college football players play in the NFL, it is very different than seeing them play in college. For instance, Marvin Harrison Junior getting drafted was an exciting moment for the Buckeye fans, but then seeing how his season hasn’t been as eventful as a college game makes it frustrating as a fan. Many college players leave it all out on the field and only play for pride. That kind of mindset changes the whole game sometimes.
Additionally, another reason why I favor college football is the halftime activities. While we get to see musical performances from famous, notorious people during the Superbowl, it is also fun to see things like the marching band performing funny and impressive pieces of music and mobility. During the NFL, we see people analyzing plays and discussing the pre and post-season- things that can be easily looked at with one Google search. Things like a marching band performance are very memorable events that keep fans engaged with the game and the community as a whole.
There are many reasons why I believe college football executes better. The players in college are more passionate and play with more energy. The twists and turns in just one game are much more eventful than the NFL games that I’ve seen. There is more to see in a college game than an NFL game, such as the marching band. The players in college play with much more pride for the game.
