Crave Cookie, located in Lewis Center that recently opened June 5, is a New-York style cookie company that has a changing menu of treats that are crafted, baked, and served daily. Crave offers a monthly changing cookie, 4 weekly cookies, and they always have their chocolate chip cookie. The store was overall very pleasing to visit. The store was kept very orderly and neat and the workers were very polite. After I ordered it only took about 3-5 minutes for my order to be iced and packaged.
I ordered the monthly cookie, stuffed cookies and cream, a cookie and cream dough base loaded with crushed Oreo and stuffed with a full Oreo and topped with white chocolate drizzle. The box was around 17 dollars total. I got 2/3 weekly cookies as well; the Reese’s PB Explosion, a vanilla cookie dough with Reese’s piece throughout and a full Reese’s cup in the center, and the Black Forest cake, a chocolate dough with baked cherries and white chocolate chips topped with whipped cream cheese frosting. Lastly, I decided to get their famous chocolate chip cookie to see if it is as good as everyone paints it out to be. After I got these cookies I decided to rate them based on looks, texture, taste, and then overall.
Cookie #1: PB Explosion
The looks I’d give it a 6/10. Nothing was too special but the colors added a nice touch to the basic peanut butter cookie. The texture of the cookie was a 10/10. The outside was crisp but the middle soft and the Reese’s pieces melted but they were not messy. I thought the taste was a 10/10 as well because I really enjoy peanut butter. Overall I’d rate the cookie a 9/10. This cookie was my favorite out of the box.
Cookie #2: Black Forest
Based on looks I’d rate the cookie a 8/10. The frosting and the cherry add some character and design that the other cookies were missing. The texture was around 4/10. The frosting was chilled compared to the semi-warm cookie and was odd as well. The frosting was really light and airy which balanced the thick cookie. There were also cherries in the cookie which gave a weird texture and taste. I would give it a 4/10 for taste. If you are a fan of cherries this may be a better cookie for you but I thought the taste of the cherries was subtle and the texture was not worth the taste. This cookie overall was not my favorite deserving a score of 5/10. I was excited about the idea but I don’t think the execution was all there.
Cookie #3: Stuffed Cookies and Cream
The cookies and cream cookie was really cute for what it was. The drizzle and visual chucks on the outside was a different approach than I’ve ever seen and it added to the appearance. The visuals were definitely a 7/10 on this cookie especially once you broke it open to reveal the whole Oreo on the inside. The texture of the cookie was really dry. I think due to the Oreo on the inside it caused the cookie itself to lose mixture in the dough but the drizzle was warm and melted which was a really nice addition. Also the chunks of crushed Oreo added a nice crunch throughout the cookie. The texture overall was a 5/10. The cookie itself tasted really good with many different components assisting each other. Overall I’d give this cookie a 6.5/10. It had really high potential and I could see how paired with a glass of milk or another drink it could easily be someone’s favorite in the box.
Cookie #4: Chocolate Chip
The appearance was around 5/10. It was just a chocolate chip cookie so it was pretty basic and didn’t have much to it. The texture was a 10/10. Similar to the PB Explosion this cookie was crisp on the outside but soft on the inside with melted chocolate chips throughout the whole thing. The taste was a 10/10 as well. This cookie is basic but when done the right way can hold so much value. This cookie might have been the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever tried. This cookie is an 8.5/10 because it was very good but very simple.
Overall PB Explosion was my favorite of the week. I think the Crave box was worth every penny. Even though in my opinion this week wasn’t the best flavors Crave has to offer, it is still an outstanding selection of cookies. I strongly recommend Crave to my friends and family.
