Homecoming night is within reach, and tensions are high as students hunt vigorously for dresses and awkwardly claim their dates. As the dance approaches, we’ve been thinking about what songs will be on queue. 

Here are our personal predictions for the homecoming playlist this year. 

     1. Industry Baby: Lil Nas X

It doesn’t matter that this song was released in 2021. Lil Nas X’s songs continue to stay on the charts. Whether you like him or not, he has some good beats. This one is a no brainer. 

     2. As it Was By Harry Styles

We’re sure everyone is aware of this song because of the millions of times it’s been played on the radio. Even as overplayed as it is, we’re sure that the Harry stans will go feral for this one. In all honesty, we’re sick of this song. 

     3. Blinding Lights by The Weeknd

We’ve been blinded by the lights for far too long. It’s been three long, arduous years since this song was released. It’s time to move on. Regardless, it will definitely be played. 

     4. Cha-Cha Slide: DJ Casper

This song was mentioned on the previous edition of “Predicting Homecoming 2021 Songs”, and will continue to stay on the list. Would Hoco even exist without this song?

     5. Bad Habit by Steve Lacy

People who had never even heard of Steve Lacy before are now die-hard fans because of this new song that has taken storm on social media and the charts. 

     6. First Class by Jack Harlow

The hold this song had on all teen boys this year was exhausting for anyone with ears. Apparently, he also has a certain appeal to a lot of teenage girls. We don’t really understand what they see, though.

     7. Heat Waves by Glass Animals

How this song continues to top the charts astounds us. This obviously outdated and overplayed song will 100% be played this year. 

     8. SICKO MODE by Travis Scott

Both DJ’s and seventh grade boys collectively love this song. If this song plays, we better see all of y’all going sicko mode.
