On October 29th the LA Clippers and Lakers were tied for the best odds to win the NBA Championship title at +300. Everyone wanted to see the battle of LA, Lebron vs Kawhi. The Nuggets, however, had other plans.

After the Clippers took a 3-1 series lead over the Nuggets many thought it was over. The Nuggets then went on to win three straight games and take the series from the Clippers. The Nuggets had already come back from down 3-1 the series before against the Utah Jazz. The Nuggets, after Tuesday’s win over the Clippers, became the first team ever to come back from down 3-1 multiple times in a playoff run. Clippers Head Coach Doc Rivers has now blown three different 3-1 leads in his career.

Many people thought that the Clippers were title or bust this year, but Clippers’ Forward Paul George didn’t think so. He said in his press conference Tuesday night, “Internally we’ve always felt this is not a championship or bust year for us.” He went on to say that the more the team plays together the better they will be.

Now for the Clippers you have to wonder, what’s next? This offseason Montrez Harrell, the 6th man of the year is a free agent and will want some serious cash. Additionally, key pieces such as Marcus Morris, Reggie Jackson, and JaMychal Green will all be free agents this off season. You have to wonder: do they make some changes this off season, or try to get everyone back and run it back one more time?

As for the Nuggets, they will face the Lakers, led by Lebron James and Anthony Davis, with the winner advancing to the finals. The Nuggets have to love what they have seen from their star center Nikola Jokic who is averaging 25.4 ppg this playoffs. Also the Nuggets have seen the emergence of their young star Jamal Murray who is averaging 27.1 ppg this playoffs. Many other players have been key to this run for the Nuggets such as: Michael Porter Jr, Gary Harris, and Monte Morris.

Next for the Western Conference is Friday night when the Nuggets matchup against the Lakers for game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
