The two teams set to square off in Super Bowl LIV. The 49ers and the Chiefs

The big game is here. After five months of football, the season ends with this. The Super Bowl. Teams have fought hard in the playoffs but the final two teams are the Kansas City Chiefs (AFC) and the San Francisco 49ers (NFC). Without further adieu, here is my Super Bowl LIV article:

Record:

Last Week: 2-0

Playoff Record: 5-5

Total:  154-92

Super Bowl LIV

Kansas City Chiefs vs San Francisco 49ers

Both of these teams are obviously talented and have about an equal chance to win the big game, so I’m going to take an in-depth dive into what each team possesses that could lead them to become Super Bowl Champions.

Why the Chiefs could win the Super Bowl:

Obviously, the biggest thing the Chiefs have going for them coming into this game is their offense. QB Patrick Mahomes is possibly the best QB in the league and his receiving corps is incredible. Between the speed of Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman and the athleticism of Travis Kelce, there is no shortage of talent in the receiving corps. The running game is definitely suspect as RB Damien Williams is hit-or-miss when it comes to being effective with his carries. The defense is not the best, but they have come up big when they’ve needed to the past couple of weeks, and that’s what matters.

MVP: Patrick Mahomes, QB

Wild Card: Mecole Hardman, WR

Biggest Weakness: Defensive Front

Why the 49ers could win the Super Bowl:

The 49ers defense is insane. They have a stud on almost every position of defense from Nick Bosa to Kwon Alexander to Richard Sherman, this defense is stacked. But they have been overpowered by some high powered offensive teams. The offense is pretty solid between the running game and QB Jimmy Garoppolo, but the true X-Factor in the 49ers offense is TE George Kittle as he is able to make something out of nothing on any given play. The 49ers are almost a perfectly balanced team, but the talent is leaning a bit more on the defensive side. But don’t people say “Defense Wins Championships”?

MVP: George Kittle, TE

Wild Card: Raheem Mostert, RB

Biggest Weakness: QB Play

So who will win?

Even though I feel that the 49ers are the more balanced team, I just can’t pick them. Patrick Mahomes is truly special and even though the 49ers defense is tough, I think he’ll find a way to still have a monster game. The offensive talent on the Chiefs will prove to be just too much for the 49ers defense, and while I think it will be close, I see the Chiefs coming away with the win.

Make sure to catch the Super Bowl today at 6:30 EST!
