Liberty’s Junior Varsity team is now 4-2 for the season after their impressive 20-0 win against Westerville Central on Saturday.

To start the game the Patriots kicked an onside kick and recovered the ball at the Warhawks 40 yard line. However the drive stalled and the Patriots were forced to punt the ball.

The Patriots had a scare when quarterback Jake Kessler pass’s was almost intercepted, but the pass connected with Kershner for a 45 yard touchdown pass. Liberty would then good for two, but the conversion was no good making the score 14-0.

The Patriots would gain the ball back on more time before the half was over with an interception by Chase Miley.

The team came back hot from halftime with another touchdown pass from Lane to Brown. The team attempted the two point conversion, but it was no good, bringing the score to 20-0.

Liberty would have one more interception, by Lucas Campbell in the third quarter. The Patriots offense would then go quiet for the fourth quarter, with the final score standing at 20-0.

The entire Patriots defense played well during the whole game, setting the tone for the shutout victory. Linebacker Shawn Castellanos, safety Schuyler Alexander and defensive tackle Nicholas Hall played a exceptionally well game for Liberty’s defense.

The team has high hopes of continuing their winning streak and advancing the record to 5-2 in their game next Saturday, Oct. 8th, against Westerville South.
