Today marks the conclusion of the 2016 Olentangy Liberty Spirit Week. This is the last day for students to participate in the set theme before the football game tonight, and homecoming tomorrow night. Liberty decided to support the American Heart Association, and sell shirts who’s revenue will be donated to the AHA. The shirts are $10 and are red, thus the theme for the day and the game is a red out.

It would be a safe assumption to say more than 75 percent of the school’s population was wearing red to school today, which is a great turnout for a great cause. It is a remarkable feat when an entire school can participate and come together for a greater cause. Due to the weather throughout Columbus, the turnout for the football game might be lower than expected, however, the amount of money Liberty will be able to donate to the AHA will be very high.

According to Mr. Rees, the leader of the marketing department at Liberty, approximately 800 shirts have been sold.  There are still more shirts that can be sold, and will be on sale at the football game.

It was a great spirit week at Liberty. A great homecoming game and dance are expected, which will be a perfect conclusion to the week for the Patriots.
